Our Story: A Journey to Purpose
It has been quite the journey with Desiree Hartsock Bridal, as the founder and designer. From our first launch in 2017, having gowns stocked in many bridal boutiques across the country, to selling exclusively online, I have learned what it means to evolve. I continue to seek the path that the Lord has me on, and can truly say I've never been more excited for what's to come than now.
Last year was a year of seeking, a year of preparation and a year of discovery in terms of the next steps I wanted to take for Desiree Hartsock Bridal. My desire to help brides is what keeps the passion ablaze and the creative outlet of design itself is what pushes me even greater. The past six years have been a time of early motherhood and establishing our family routine, all while running a business and leading various projects. It hasn't always been easy to focus solely on business since my family's needs come first, but I've enjoyed the challenge of making them both work. It's been a wonderful lesson in balancing both roles to create a peaceful rhythm. (and staying sane! haha) Last year was an important year of personal growth and for that I am grateful.
As a young 16 year old, I knew immediately I wanted to attend Fashion Design School because of my desire to design and sew dresses early on. I was drawn to silky silhouettes and evening wear styles but didn't think there was enough of a demand for those style of dresses to really make it after school. While in design school, I was introduced to the bridal industry and would never look back.
I spent years working at various bridal salons helping brides find their dream dress, all while dreaming about the day I could design my own. I loved the hustle of going from one bridal appointment to the next and using my design knowledge to help each bride find the right gown for their body and style. I also had the privilege of working at a plus-size woman's apparel company as a designer for a few years, where I learned the need and skill to flatter all shapes and sizes. I believe every woman should be able to wear the gown of her dreams and want to make that available to all brides. Hence, why I will always offer custom design options and many adjustments to every style.
Fast forward six years and I'm finally stepping into what I have always felt burning inside of me. I'm designing and creating gowns and outfits that excite my love for history, for the 20's and 30's, for all things silky and romantic. I'm designing from heart and not from pressures. I'm designing with a new purpose. To not only create pretty things but to inspire love filled marriages. It's not just about the wedding day but the years to follow. May these new designs, coming your way soon, be reminiscent of decades past and inspire your own timeless love.
